Dunnit alternative

Dunnit alternative

Dunnit is a personal assistant you text. Same job as us. Public number. Available today.

They work while you sleep. We work while you text. The honest split is autonomy versus breadth.

This is not a ChatGPT comparison. That post is already written: Why Use AI Chat SMS When You Can Just Use ChatGPT?.

We already wrote a Homer alternative and an Instinct alternative. Dunnit is a different product.

What Dunnit says

From dunnit.ai: an AI assistant you just text. Public number +1 (415) 505-7140. Lives in Messages. iMessage on iPhone. SMS on any phone.

One Google sign-in connects Gmail and Google Calendar for the inbox and calendar work. You do not need that sign-in just to text them.

What they publish: inbox triage and drafted replies, emails turned into calendar events, rescheduling, held blocks, and reminders that know your schedule. Important actions wait for a yes or no. Their FAQ says they ask before anything important.

They send a morning brief they call the 6am brief.

First week free. No card. Then Dunnit Pro at $20 a month. One plan. They say it gets sharper the more you text.

Marketing says no app and no login. Their Terms also describe an account verified by SMS and email, plus a dashboard.

We are not going to draw their product UI. That page is the source.

What you get if you text us

A public number. (305) 588-2170. US and Canada. Native Messages. No app. Fifty free messages. No account or card to start.

On iPhone and Mac you get real iMessage blue bubbles. Android and other phones get SMS or RCS.

Where Dunnit wins

Unattended overnight work inside a Google account. They triage inbox, draft replies, turn emails into events, reschedule, and hold blocks while you sleep. Important actions wait for a yes or no. In the morning you get a report they call the 6am brief.

If that is the job, they built for it. We did not.

Where we win

No account and no card before the first useful answer. Fifty free messages on a public number you can save today.

Breadth in one thread. Reminders, any-topic briefs, memory, web search, /image, personas, bookmarks, and photo analysis. Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Outlook on the same /connect list.

Their briefing is about your inbox and calendar. Ours can be news, weather, sports, or anything you pick.

After the free messages, unlimited is $15 a month. Pay as you go starts at $10. Their plan is $20 a month after a free first week.

Which one you want

If you want your inbox handled at 2am, that is Dunnit.

If you want a broad everyday assistant in Messages, that is us.
